A Legacy of Infinity: Stéphane Rolland & the Maisons des Adolescents
by Alexandra I. Mas
When we speak of infinity, we inevitably think of legacy. Joséphine Baker dreamed of a world built on universal fraternity, a vision reflected in her Tribu Arc-en-Ciel. Today, that same spirit of solidarity lives on in the Maisons des Adolescents (MDA)—125 centers established over the past 25 years, welcoming over 100,000 young people nationwide.
These spaces provide guidance, support, and protection for adolescents aged 11 to 21, as well as their families and professionals. Free, confidential, and in some cases anonymous, these centers are safe havens, where dedicated teams offer listening, care, and empowerment with unwavering compassion.
Since 2004, the initiative has been supported by the Fondation des Hôpitaux, first championed by Bernadette Chiracwith the creation of the Maison de Solenn, and now led by Brigitte Macron alongside Vice-President Anne Barrère, continuing this crucial mission for youth well-being.
Stéphane Rolland: An Artistic Commitment
Believing in the power of art as a source of confidence and transformation, Stéphane Rolland has joined this cause through a unique initiative:
Fundraising Through Fashion – 700 seats from his haute couture show were sold, with all proceeds donated to the MDA network. Additionally, a digital platform was launched to encourage spontaneous contributions.
Creative Workshops for Adolescents – Rolland and his partners organized six exclusive workshops for 12 young people (aged 13-19) from the MDA of Loir-et-Cher, under the care of the Centre Hospitalier Simone Veil de Blois. These sessions provided an immersive journey into the world of fashion and performance, fostering moments of wonder and self-expression.
At the heart of this initiative lies a message of solidarity and optimism. Through art, mentorship, and shared experiences, these young participants regain self-confidence, inspiration, and hope for the future. A legacy not just of couture, but of compassion—where fashion meets purpose, and dreams take flight.
