the Sunday Corset

Fashion

When it comes to fashion, there are few brands who embody, sensuality, history, and style quite like Vivienne Westwood. Her designs were an ode to femininity. The Sunday Corset makes its debut in the Vivienne Westwood SS23 collection. Taking inspiration from the Gigi Corset, which first appeared in the Andreas Kronthaler for Vivienne Westwood SS21 collection, this new design is the perfect cocktail of the characteristic heart shape, a tender elegance and sculptural corset structure. The structure of the bustier serves as the base for a triangle of fluidly draped fabric that ruffles over the shoulders. The silhouette, inspired by Renaissance portraiture and Ancient Greek attire, recalls that of the Sunday Dress from the 90s.

Sensuality skin deep… designed to support, flatter the body and empower, the garment is available in georgette with a print of Francois Boucher‘s painting “The Abduction of Europa,” in black crêpe de chine with a gold Orb pattern, and in the MacAndy Tartan in neon colours.
