The air in Paris’s electro scene is buzzing, and for good reason. This week, the turntables are ablaze for the sublime new EP from Yuksek, the undisputed maestro of cosmic disco. He’s gathered a constellation of talent, surrounding himself with Diogo Strausz—whose recent Caramba continues to enchant us—the enigmatic M.I.L.K., and the delicate Isaac Delusion. A singular trio of artists for a project poised to leave a stellar mark on the musical landscape.

Yuksek: The Architect of Our Cosmic Nights

An iconic figure in the global electronic music scene, Yuksek consistently makes continents vibrate with his inimitable cosmic disco. His journey, a sonic odyssey that began with classical rigor before embracing the raw energy of ’90s raves, has propelled him to the forefront of our era’s most inventive forces. A visionary producer, label founder, screen composer, and globe-trotting DJ, Yuksek has built a well-deserved reputation: that of a sound artisan whose studio creativity is insatiable.

With five albums to his name, countless productions and remixes for names as eclectic as Lana Del Rey, Moby, Phoenix, or more niche projects, his work has graced prestigious labels like Razor-N-Tape, Classic Music, Toy Tonics, Sweat It Out, Barclay, BMG, and Kitsuné. His past collaborations are a dazzling testament to his artistic openness, having joined forces with talents such as Confidence Man, Polo & Pan, Queen Rose, Breakbot, Phillipi (Fatnotronic), and of course, Diogo Strausz. Not to mention his alter ego, Destiino, whose productions are housed by DJ Chloé’s Lumière Noire label. A dizzying discography that confirms his iconic status.

Déjà Vous: A New Sonic Odyssey

His brand-new EP, Déjà Vous, is the result of intense creative sessions with his international collaborators. Danish artist Milk, Brazilian Diogo Strausz, and French Isaac Delusion weave new sounds, each more captivating than the last. It was in a country house that Yuksek joined Loïc from Isaac Delusion to give birth to the evanescent “She’s Mine,” starting from a simple piano chord. His meeting with Milk in Paris was just as striking: “Five minutes after we met, I played him the instrumental for the simple and sunny ‘All Night’ (…) and we started recording vocals a few minutes later, just a few takes needed for the main vocal, a few more for the backings and choirs, and a good level of fun.” As for Diogo Strausz, a longtime collaborator and friend, their session in Reims birthed the EP’s eponymous track: “Déjà Vous.” A song Yuksek describes with rare poetry as “a kind of acid trip through a jungle of synthetic trees, slowly climbing towards the canopy.”

With Déjà Vous, Yuksek once again proves his ability to reinvent himself, to push the boundaries of his art, while remaining true to the sonic signature that has brought him global acclaim. This is a sonic immersion not to be missed. So, prepare your finest attire and let yourself be carried away by this new cosmic wave.
