Histoire de Style 2025
by Alexandra I. Mas
By now, you all know that Boucheron’s winter presentation is synonymous with heritage and archives. Every year, Claire Choisne, the Maison’s visionary Creative Director, delves deep into Boucheron’s history, rediscovering the themes and forms that have shaped the essence of Frédéric Boucheron’s artistic vision.
Step into Boucheron’s boutique on Place Vendôme, and if you haven’t yet, I urge you to do so whenever you wish to claim a small part of the Maison’s DNA for yourself. There, beyond the dazzling displays of jewelry and high jewelry, you will find a luxuriant winter garden, an echo of nature’s enduring presence in Boucheron’s creative universe. For from the very beginning, nature has been an unrivaled source of inspiration for the Maison, a nature alive, vibrant, and wild.
In the Boucheron Ateliers – Cyclamen –
Dangling earrings with pavé diamonds, set in white gold. This delicate floral motif, originally found in the Boucheron archives, has been reinterpreted under the artistic direction of Claire Choisne, transforming it into a ring and a pair of asymmetrical earrings that capture the organic beauty of the cyclamen flower.
One earring features six gracefully unfolding petals, perched atop a diamond-pavé stem, evoking the flower’s natural elegance. To balance the composition, the second stud earring is shaped as a pierced leaf, also set with pavé diamonds, adding a subtle contrast and depth to the pair.
The Boucheron workshops faced an intricate technical challenge in setting rose-cut diamonds along the cyclamen’s delicate petals, an exceptionally precise operation that required the combined expertise of jewelers and master setters. Each of the 101 rose-cut diamonds was meticulously selected and arranged to perfectly match the curvature and volume of the petals, enhancing their natural contours. The petals are further complemented by round brilliant-cut diamonds, set into the leaves with a pavé technique, bringing a refined radiance to the design.

Nature According to Frédéric Boucheron
Unlike his contemporaries, who favored noble flowers and majestic animals, Frédéric Boucheron saw beauty in the untamed. He found inspiration in climbing ivy, drawn to its resilience as it wound its way up the porticoes of the Palais Royal, where he opened his first boutique in 1858. His fascination with nature was not one of idealized perfection but of authenticity, a world where wild roses, clovers, and daisies intertwined with thistles, butterflies, beetles, and dragonflies.
Driven by an obsessive attention to detail, Boucheron amassed a vast library of over 600 works, including scientific botanical treatises of the 19th century. His meticulous study of flora and fauna allowed him to capture nature’s smallest imperfections, from wind-bent branches to twisted leaves and withering petals, immortalizing them in gold and gemstones.
Claire Choisne’s Vision for 2025: Beyond the Archives
This year, Claire Choisne reinterprets Boucheron’s singular vision of nature, not by simply revisiting the past, but by transcending it, elevating it into an entirely new dimension. Through 28 groundbreaking haute joaillerie creations, she envisions a nature reclaiming its place, redefining the boundaries between humans and the ecosystem that surrounds them.
With Histoire de Style: Untamed Nature, Boucheron presents an encyclopedia of Haute Joaillerie, where precious metals and diamonds become an ode to a world that exists beyond our control, a world where nature is free, unbound, and eternal.
