Fast forward to March 3rd 2024, Ritz, Paris, and the echoes of that recognition reverberated once again as Daniel Roseberry, the Artistic Director of Schiaparelli, was bestowed with the 2024 Neiman Marcus Award for Creative Impact in the Field of Fashion. It was a momentous occasion, marking not only Roseberry’s personal achievement but also a continuation of Schiaparelli’s legacy of innovation and daring creativity.
I vividly reminisce about Daniel’s inaugural fashion show for Schiaparelli, a seminal moment that catalysed a real change within the industry. While some critics recoiled at its daring, to me, it felt as though Schiaparelli herself was orchestrating his bold strides. I ardently championed his approach, recognising in it a contemporary manifestation of Elsa’s visionary ethos. Since then, Daniel Roseberry has continued to captivate audiences, garnering widespread acclaim from the fashion cognoscenti for his boundless imagination and meticulous craftsmanship.
While his technical prowess and mastery of tailoring were honed over a decade under Tom Browne, it’s Daniel’s surrealistic sensibility that truly distinguishes him – a wellspring of profound creativity and ingenuity.
